frequently asked questions

Why physiotherapy at home?

Basically, a physiotherapist will come to your home and treat you in the benefit of your own home. There are no additional expenses to cover costs of travelling or parking! The physiotherapist will first assess you and then formulate a treatment plan and work closely with you to provide you with the best care.

What if I need any modalities?

The physiotherapist is equipped with a number of modalities, including Ultrasound, TENS, ICE and Heat packs, Mobilization belts, Acupuncture. The therapist will advise you on exercise therapy, if needed, and make therabands or weights available to you.

Do I need to have a referral from my family doctor?

No, you do not need a referral from your family doctor to see the physiotherapist. However, if you do have a referral, it is important to show it to your physiotherapist. If you have extended health coverage, it would be useful to call your insurance company for additional information on your coverage.

How long does the treatment last?

Every client is different and the physiotherapist will tell you more about this after your first visit. On average, every session lasts 35 to 50 minutes.

My doctor gave me a referral for another physiotherapy clinic but I would prefer that someone sees me ay home. Is this possible?

Yes. All physiotherapists that will treat you in your home are registered with the college of physiotherapists of Ontario.

I work during the week, and would prefer weekend visits. Is this possible?

Yes, we also offer physiotherapy at home services on any time and day during the weekends and holidays. Please contact us for more details.

What hours are you available?

The physiotherapist can see you at any time of the day. Please email or call us to setup an appointment.

I had recent Orthopedic surgery and I am in too much pain to go to a physiotherapy clinic. Can you come to my home for a few sessions just for advice, and then continue in a clinic?

Yes, the physiotherapist will assess you and guide you in the first few days after your surgery. We will communicate closely with your surgeon if necessary. If you like to continue your therapy in a clinic, the physiotherapist will give you (and your clinic physiotherapist) a copy of all documents and assessment and treatment notes for continuation of care.
